Alert
Alert! Alert!
Calling all Space Rangers! Come
in Star Command! Buzz Lightyear
needs your help! Woody has been
toynapped by Prospector, a dishonest toy collector, and you must lead Buzz on a
danger-filled rescue mission to save his friend!
It will take a positive attitude and lots of hard work to overcome all
the obstacles thrown at Buzz. Thank
goodness for all his cool accessories and for all the help Buzz gets from the
other toys!
This amazing adventure begins at Andy’s house but soon
moves through the neighborhood and on to the big city as Buzz searches for
Woody. After making his way to the
Prospector’s toy store, Buzz finds out that Woody has been taken to the
collector’s apartment. Now he has
to sneak into the apartment, rescue Woody and get him back to Andy’s house.
There are 15 huge worlds to explore and 5 really tough Bosses
to battle as you make your way to the captured Woody!
Buzz has dozens of cool moves, but you have to pick just the right one to
battle each Boss. Buzz also needs those moves to win races, collect tokens and
to get all the items he needs to complete his arsenal. You need to find the Cosmic Shield, Grappling Hook, Rocket
Jet Boots, and a whole lot more!
Disney/Pixar’s Action Game, Toy Story 2 features all the
original characters like Hamm and Rex plus new characters, as well.
The awesome 3-D graphics and terrific sound effects and music all add up
to a totally cool game adventure. Plus,
throughout the game, you will view dozens of movie clips, including special
“reward” clips, and you’ll hear all the original character voices from the
movie.

Gameplay: 7.
Keyboard or gamepad must be used to play the game.
Full keyboard and gamepad commands are listed on the Quick Reference Card
included with the game and can also be found in the Help File.
Graphics: 8.5.
The outstanding 3D graphics are rendered in a cartoon-like environment.
Sound: 8.5.
The game is packed full of terrific sound effects and music.
Difficulty: 8.5.
You have to move fast and make quick decisions throughout the game.
Deciding which of Buzz’s special moves to use requires split-second
timing. I found that using higher
resolutions made movement more difficult and sluggish.
My best movement results were with the resolution setting of 600x400x16.
I would suggest experimenting for the best results on your computer.
Concept: 8.5.
There is a good storyline here, but then it was taken straight from the
movie that we all know was a winner! What
Disney movie is not???
Overall: A solid
8. Toy Story 2 is fun, challenging
and as addictive as the Mario series. After
you play it, you may know where the goodies are hidden, but getting to them all
is another story. Suggested retail
is $30 and that makes it an excellent buy from my point of view.
I give this game a “thumbs up” and the Grandma’s Stamp of Approval.
